Our EDI Fundamentals for Employees training provides up to 25 learners with a comprehensive understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion and its importance in the workplace. Participants will gain practical knowledge on how to apply EDI practices to foster a welcoming and supportive environment for employees and service users of all backgrounds.

 

By completing this course, individuals will ensure they stay compliant with the Equality Act and other relevant legislation, thus reducing the risk of discrimination and legal issues within their organizations.

 

This course covers:

 

Understanding the Equality Act

Overview: Introduction to the Equality Act, its purpose, and its scope.

Protected Characteristics: Detailed look at age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, and sexual orientation.

Types of Discrimination: Explanation of direct and indirect discrimination, harassment, and victimisation.

 

Key Concepts and Terminology

Definitions: Clarification of equality, diversity, and inclusion.

Unconscious Bias: Discussion on unconscious bias and its impact on workplace behavior.

Equity vs. Equality: Understanding the difference between equity and equality.

 

Legal Obligations

Responsibilities: Overview of the duties of employers and employees under the Equality Act.

Consequences of Non-Compliance: Explanation of the legal ramifications and workplace implications of not adhering to the Act.

Reporting Procedures: Guidance on how to address and report discrimination and harassment.

 

Inclusive Practices

Workplace Culture: Strategies for fostering an inclusive workplace culture.

Communication: Best practices for inclusive communication and behavior.

    Once you have purchased a training package we will be in contact to book a date. Always contact us first to check date availability if you need a specific date to avoid disapointment, as we cannot guarantee dates until booking is complete.

    After booking, all cancellations will incur a minimum 15% charge. Cancellations within 1 week of the training date will incur a 50% admin charge and cancellations within 48 hours of the training date will incur an 80% admin charge.

    This training is compliant with UK Laws and does not apply to employees outside of the UK. 

    Full payment is required within 14 days of booking or dates cannot be held.
